About World Food Day

FAO celebrates World Food Day each year on 16 October to commemorate the founding of the Organization in 1945. Events are organized in over 130 countries across the world, making it one of the most celebrated days of the UN calendar. These events promote worldwide awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all.

World Food Day is a chance to show our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 – to achieve #ZeroHunger by 2030.

On the occasion of World Food Day, College of Food Processing Technology and Bio-energy of Anand Agricultural University is organizing a national Tech Fest “ADROIT'18” during October, 2018 at Anand.
Here is an opportunity for young minds to ignite their abilities and expand their horizon of knowledge, by showcasing their innovations and ideas, to prove that they are extraordinarily talented and skillful. Taking into consideration the competitive mindset of today's generation and its importance in the global arena, a blend of technical and non-technical events is being arranged.
In the heart of Anand lies a fest that pushes the boundaries of young and budding food scientists’ performance and creativity every year. From presenting posters and models, to bringing into reality imaginative food products that the student mind conjures up, to the events that enthrall everyone who attends ADROIT- a national technical fest that has always brought together the brightest minds in technology and engineering over the years, and this year, it promises to be bigger than ever. Adroit thus aims for one and all to get inspired and looked upto.

About the College


Considering the huge demand of specialized human resources for the rocketing sector of food industry and bio-energy, a fully-fledged College of Food Processing Technology and Bio-energy has been established at Anand Agricultural University, Anand. Primary mission of the college is to produce highly skilled and motivated food processing professionals for efficiently establishing, operating and managing food and allied industries. The college is the modern institute exclusively devoted for academic programme leading to degrees of B. Tech, M. Tech and Ph.D. The college has excellent infrastructure for research and development with well qualified scientists and state-of-art laboratories.
